Self Portraits

Artist Statement:

Throughout my career, I have made a couple of self-portraits to represent myself through different ways.  Experimenting with different mediums has allowed me to further grow my artistic abilities. With these self protraits, I am able to see myself represented in different perspectives, figuratively and literally. It even allows me to grow comfortable with my features and quirks that define me!

Comfort In Consumption

Spring 2025

Artist Statement:

“Comfort in Consumption” focuses on how consumerist culture controls our lives. Consumerism culture is an economic system focused on purchasing and consuming goods to obtain identity, power, and money, and has obtained control over our lives and sense of self.  This body of work explores the aftermath between capitalism and its reliance on consumeristic culture and how it affects people of all generations. These pieces explore the constant need for instant gratification, whether it is updating the media or continuously defining ourselves through trends. This need for consumption takes away our focus, from aspects of life that cannot be achieved through a screen.
